Guatemala: Potential Opportunities for Use of Digital Payments in Guatemala’s Western Highlands

The U.S. Global Development Lab’s Digital Finance team and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) released the “Assessment of Potential Opportunities for Use of Digital Payments for Smallholder Farmers in Guatemala’s Western Highlands.” This report explores the role that digital financial services can play in the financial inclusion of smallholder farmers in Guatemala. The report summarizes key findings for Guatemala, proposes recommendations, and the stakeholders who could potentially implement the recommendations.
