Artificial Intelligence

While Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers numerous potential benefits by creating efficiencies in systems and offloading rote tasks away from humans, these tools are not neutral. Machine learning can readily codify and reproduce patterns from large datasets, often at scale.

Artificial intelligence (AI) uses computers to make decisions or recommendations in an automated way. AI often relies on machine learning (ML), a subset of AI focused on finding patterns in data and making predictions, decisions, or groupings based on those patterns. Crucially, all applications of AI rely on data, which can come in many forms (e.g. textual, numeric, audio, image, or video). While they offer numerous potential benefits by creating efficiencies in systems and offloading rote tasks away from humans, these tools are not neutral. Machine learning can readily codify and reproduce patterns from large datasets, often at scale.
